So what if the US, which is still part of the West, _does_ give Putin reason to stop? That commitment from Trump would be more credible than it was from Biden.
Trump can and should put additional pressure on Putin. A simple declaration “we will stand with the Ukraine to ensure Russia dies not make any additional territorial gains” would be powerful. NATO troops behind the front line would drive the message home that Russia will not gain any more territory.
Putin never negotiates in good faith. Trump is either naive or in cahoots with Russian pr moves.
